This sculpture depicts Christ praying the prayer of intercession found in John 17. He is praying for you, for me and for all believers as He knows He will soon be leaving this earth. Even the pose was described in the first verse. It has also been called "the Farewell Prayer of Christ". It's a very appropriate statue for prayer gardens and columbariums.
